Garbage collection in Orlando to drop to once a week

Recyclables to also be picked weekly

ORLANDO, Fla. – A big change is coming to garbage collection for thousands of homes in Orlando.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the city will begin testing a new solid waste schedule. The change would mean garbage and recycling are both picked up once a week.

Currently, trash is picked up twice a week and recycling every other week.

The test is expected to start May 1 in northwest Orlando before gradually moving into the rest of the city.
