Man accused of hitting boyfriend, cat with ax found dead, deputies say

Suspect fled after attack, officials say

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – Seminole County deputies said they found the man accused of hitting his boyfriend and his boyfriend's cat with an ax dead Friday evening.

Deputies said Jordan Douglas Morgan hit his boyfriend and his boyfriend's cat with an ax Thursday morning, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office said.

The victim was asleep at his home in unincorporated Oviedo when he woke up to find his boyfriend, Jordan Douglas Morgan, standing over his bed with an ax in his hand, according to an incident report.

Morgan hit the victim and the victim's cat, Sukki, with the small ax, deputies said. The victim told his roommates he chased Morgan out of the house after the attack.

Roommates said the victim had a gash on his head and the cat's head was split open, according to deputies. Blood was found splattered on the stairs and near a window.

A perimeter was set up around the residence but deputies were unable to find Jordan. He was last seen walking on the median on Alafaya Trail, toward Carrigan Avenue.

Morgan, 18, was wanted on charges of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery and animal cruelty.

Investigators received information Friday night that Morgan was inside a home on Breckenridge Village in Altamonte Springs, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies entered the home around 8:30 p.m. and found Morgan dead of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, deputies said.

The Sheriff's Office said the incident remains under investigation.
