Deputies name new suspect in Gemini Springs Park car burglaries

Man wanted for smashing out windows of cars, stealing personal information

DeBARY, Fla. – Deputies in Volusia County have named a new suspect wanted in a recent string of car burglaries at Gemini Springs Park.

Surveillance cameras at a convenience store captured the man and his car.

Deputies believe the man smashed out windows of two cars and stole personal identification belonging to female victims.

Meanwhile, a woman arrested over the weekend in connection with those break-ins could face a judge Tuesday in Broward County.

Investigators say Dianne Garrett, 31, is accused of cashing several checks that were stolen from the victims. Deputies say she tried to pass herself off as the victim by using the woman's stolen identification cards.

During the investigation, deputies found several pictures of Garrett trying to make fraudulent transactions at Central Florida banks, deputies said. Deputies said that in many of the photos, Garrett was wearing a wig as a way to change her appearance.
