Fall will continue to follow guidelines to maintain NCAA eligibility

ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Central Florida's tallest basketball player, 7-foot-6 Tacko Fall, could declare for the NBA draft next year, according to UCF Athletics.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for Tacko," UCF head coach Johnny Dawkins said.

Fall will continue to follow the guidelines to retain his NCAA eligibility, but has expressed interest in declaring for the NBA Draft.

The center has asked about feedback on his draft status from the NBA undergraduate advisory committee. NCAA guidelines say Fall has until May 24 to decide whether he will declare for the draft.

Fall helped lead the University of Central Florida to a 24-win season and to the Final 4 of the NIT tournament. He set UCF records for rebounds in a season with 343 and best shooting percentage with 72.7 percent.

"This season has been the most fun I've ever had," Fall said. "Having said that, it has been a dream of mine to play in the NBA so I look forward to going through the process and I thank Coach Dawkins and the staff for helping me through it."

The NBA Draft lottery will be held May 26 and the NBA Draft will be held June 22
