Mural unveiled at UCF Student Union honors 2 Pulse victims

Art shows likeness of Juan Ramos Guerrero and Christopher Andrew "Drew" Leinonen

The University of Central Florida unveiled a mural Thursday created by two artists to remember a student and alumnus whose lives were lost at Pulse nightclub nearly a year ago.

Artists Michael Pilato and Yuriy Karabash collaborated with the families of Juan Ramos Guerrero and Christopher Andrew "Drew" Leinonen to create a mural in their likeness.

The mural is now on display outside the UCF student union building on campus.

The mural unveiling is a part of a list of events the university is hosting on Thursday which includes an opportunity to create and share tributes to the 49 victims at the "Reflection on Pulse" event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Atrium.

The university will also host a UCF Remembers Blood Drive and an art exhibition from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the UCF Art Gallery.
