Motorcyclist hit, killed going wrong way on ramp, troopers say

FHP: Driver unable to avoid hitting motorcyclist

ORLANDO, Fla. – A motorcyclist was killed in Orlando early Sunday while riding the wrong way on an entrance ramp, troopers said.

Troopers said the motorcyclist, Joel Cabrera, 42, of Orlando, was going the wrong way on the U.S. 441 northbound entrance ramp onto the Florida Turnpike at 2:25 a.m. as the driver of a Toyota Camry was driving in the right direction.

The driver of the Camry was unable to avoid hitting Cabrera's motorcycle, troopers said.

Cabrera was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene, the Highway Patrol said.

The driver of the Camry was taken to Hunter's Creek Hospital for minor injuries, troopers said. His passenger was not injured.

The Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation.
