Elephant family rescues calf from drowning in pool

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – A pair of adult elephants rushed into action to save a calf from drowning after it fell into a pool.

The rescue at Grand Park Zoo in Seoul, South Korea was caught on video and shows the elephants using teamwork to get the baby to safety.

Almost immediately after the calf slips in the large pool while taking a drink, a nearby adult rushes over to the side of the other elephant.

The two adults then hurry to the shallow end of the pool and quickly walk in towards the baby.

They both lift the head of the calf above the water and slowly guide it towards the shallow end and safety.

A third elephant in another pen can be seen in the distance panicking and distressed over not being able to help.
