Man claims to have placed bombs at Dayona Speedway, police say

No bombs found

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A man called the Daytona Beach Police Department on Thursday afternoon, claiming he had placed multiple bombs at Daytona International Speedway, police said.

Police searched the property and found no explosives.

NASCAR drivers and spectators were at the speedway Thursday prepping for Saturday night's Coke Zero 400.

An investigation into the hoax bomb threat is ongoing. Anyone with information about the threat is asked to call the Daytona Beach Police Criminal Investigations Division at 386-671-5202.
