Arrest made in Clermont homicide

Man charged with second-degree homicide

CLERMONT, Fla. – An arrest has been made in connection with the shooting death of a man in Clermont earlier this month, police said.

Shaftney McMullen was named as a person of interest  in the shooting death of Ronald Stedelin on June 11. He was taken to custody this week on unrelated drug charges. Police announced Friday that he has been charged with second-degree murder in Stedelin's death.

Amber Weaver was also named as a person of interest in the death. She is not in custody. 

The Clermont Police Department said officers are actively pursuing leads in the case and expect to make more arrests. 

Police said a resident in the area of the Disston Avenue apartment complex found Stedelin lying behind his car, which was running and had its lights on. Stedelin did not live at the apartments, police said.
