Missing child alert canceled for 2 Port Orange girls

Details of girls' recovery not released

PORT ORANGE, Fla. – A missing child alert for two 15-year-old Port Orange girls has been canceled, according to authorities.

The alert was issued on Sunday for Destiny Thompson and rittany Pickavance, but officials have not disclosed any details about their recovery.

Destiny's mother told officers from the Port Orange Police Department that she woke up around 7 a.m. last Tuesday and tried to wake Destiny, but the girl was not in her bedroom, and her cellphone, cellphone charger and some clothing were missing, according to an incident report.

The mother called Brittany's parents to ask them if Destiny had gone to her house during the night, because the two girls are friends and spend time together. Brittany's parents found that neither girl was at the home.

The girls' parents told police that they could have traveled to Daytona Beach or Tennessee.
