OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A man is dead after a crash Wednesday afternoon in Osceola County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The two-vehicle crash happened around 3:45 p.m. near Boggy Creek Road and Lake Vista Drive.

Troopers said a Honda Accord, driven by 45-year-old Sandor Salazar, was heading east on Boggy Creek Road as a Honda van headed west on the road.

The Accord traveled into the westbound lane for an unknown reason. Troopers said the front left of the Accord struck the front left of the van.

Salazar was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, troopers said. The driver of the van, 38-year-old Guillermo Montanez, suffered serious injuries and was also hospitalized.

Both men were wearing seatbelts. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

The FHP said the crash remains under investigation.
