OCALA, Fla. – A boil water notice was canceled Sunday for an Ocala community, Marion County officials said.

The precautionary notice was issued Friday for Oak Run residents after a lightning strike caused a 12-inch water main break, officials said.

Crews repaired the damage to the water main and restored full water service for the 3,400 customers in the community.

Collected samples of the water met the required quality standard, which is set by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, for two consecutive days and was deemed safe to drink, county officials said.

Marion County officials said residents with questions about the notice can contact the county's utility customer service line at 352-307-6000.
