Deputies searching for gunman in Clermont road-rage shooting

Man injured in shooting, deputies say

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives are investigating a road-rage shooting in which one person was injured Thursday afternoon in Clermont, the Lake County Sheriff's Office said.

The shooting happened at the intersection of Lake Louisa and Hammock Ridge roads, Lake County Sgt. Fred Jones said.

Deputies said the interaction between the two drivers began at about 2 p.m. and ended when a man in a silver convertible BMW fired a single shot into the victim's vehicle.

The suspect is at large and left the scene before authorities arrived, Jones said. 

The victim was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center and is in stable condition.

The family of the victim has asked that News 6 not publish his name because the shooter is at large.
