Police: Victim held at gunpoint during robbery at Islander Beach Club

New Smyrna Beach police search for armed robbers

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – New Smyrna Beach police are looking for two men who carried out an armed robbery early Sunday at the Islander Beach Club, officials said.

Police said the men entered the lobby of the business on South Atlantic Avenue just after 3:30 a.m. and held the victim, who was at the front desk, at gunpoint. 

One of the men pointed the gun and ordered the victim to look away as the other searched for items to steal, officers said. Police said the men left in an unknown vehicle with the victim's purse.

No shots were fired and no one was hurt during the robbery, police said.

Officers said both men were black and are believed to be in their 20s. One of the men wore a multi-colored jacket and covered his face with a white mask. The other, who was wearing a black track jacket, pulled a T-shirt over his head to hide himself, police said.
