The apartment tenant said that he fired his gun almost simultaneously, hitting Aswad Velazquez and causing him to fall to the ground, deputies said. The shot Aswad Velazquez fired lodged into a wall after missing the homeowner.

Deputies said the man fired at Velazquez three more times because Velazquez tried to get up from the ground and fire his weapon again. Deputies said Isiah Velazquez, 19, and Tareak Ilarreza, 18, fired at the apartment door.

The man's wife was shot when a bullet fired by one of the suspects ricocheted into her foot, according to the report.

Lawrence Alexis, 22, dragged Aswad Velazquez down the stairs and fired a shot at a neighbor who opened her door to see what was happening, the affidavit said.

Alexis, Isiah Velazquez and Ilarreza drove Aswad Velazquez to Florida Hospital Celebration Health in Kissimmee, where he died.

All three men were charged with armed burglary, second-degree murder, and two counts of attempted murder. Lawrence has an additional charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The apartment tenant has not been charged.
