Man found shot dead in Chevrolet Impala, Ocala police say

OCALA, Fla. – A man died after he was found lying in a Chevrolet Impala on Monday suffering from at least one gun shot wound, according to the Ocala Police Department.

A report of a shooting came in around 12:10 p.m. A woman flagged the first officer on the scene to an area on NW 9th Avenue and said that she believes someone was shot outside her home.

The officer approached a silver 2008 Chevrolet Impala with its rear passenger door open and found Jonah Johnson, 22, lying in the driver seat with the seat reclined. His pulse was weak, police said.

EMS arrived and began life-saving efforts, but Johnson was pronounced dead at 12:24 p.m. 

Police said Johnson's died from a gunshot wound. A homicide investigation is underway.
