Teenager arrested in Titusville mall bomb threat

17-year-old boy charged with filing false report

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a bomb threat at the Searstown Mall on Friday, according to the Titusville Police Department.

Police said the teenager called the police department's non-emergency line around 10:15 p.m. and said a bomb had been planted at the mall.

The building was searched and more than 120 people were evacuated from the mall's movie theater and Valentino's Italian Restaurant. No explosive device was found and the scene was cleared at 11:50 p.m., according to a news release.

The investigation led police to a 17-year-old boy who was arrested Wednesday and charged with false reporting concerning planting a bomb and violation of juvenile probation, both felonies.
