Man throws rocks at cars believing 'the purge' is happening

27-year-old admits to having done methamphetamine

A Missouri man was arrested for throwing rocks at vehicles while on methamphetamine because he believed "the purge" was happening.

According to local news station WDAF, Jeremy A. Perkins, 27, was standing on the roof of an abandoned building throwing rocks at passing vehicles when police arrived. After Perkins threw a brick at an officer, backup was called and the suspect was taken into custody.

When Perkins arrived at the police station, he told officers that he had done meth the night before and perceived everyone as the enemy. He stated someone had told him "the purge" was happening, which was an apparent nod to the 2013 horror film by that name.

Perkins is being charged with two counts of 2nd degree attempted assault, and two counts of armed criminal action.
