FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A man was arrested on drug charges Tuesday after reporting a robbery at his home.
Flagler County deputies said James Soldo, 37, called them at 8:19 a.m. to report that an armed burglary had just occurred.
Soldo reported that a man rang the doorbell and when he opened the door the man stuck a revolver in his face. Soldo said he slammed the door and escaped the home by climbing out his bedroom window.
The Flagler County Sheriff's Office said Soldo reported that the intruder made his way into the home, smashed the rear sliding glass door and went into his freezer before leaving without taking anything.
Deputies said as they were investigating they smelled cannabis and told Soldo they had reason to believe there may have been a large quantity of it stolen. They said there appeared to be a large amount stored in the freezer and based on the fact the suspect went straight for the freezer, the man may have been someone Soldo has sold cannabis to in the past.
The FCSO said Soldo told detectives they could look through his home because he had nothing to hide, and during their search they found a baggy containing approximately 8.3 grams of cannabis, a metal grinder, a small container with a dark brown, sticky, wax-like substance, a rubber mat with adark brown sticky, wax-like substance and a glass smoking pipe.
A later field test kit identified the substance on the items as cannabis and Soldo was arrested. He is charged with possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis, possession of THC wax or oil and possession of drug paraphernalia.
