Orlando woman found slain in Daytona Beach Shores identified

Officials investigate 34-year-old's death as homicide

DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla. – A 34-year-old Orlando woman died Friday morning outside a hotel in Daytona Beach Shores in what officials have called a homicide.

Officers were called at 5:23 a.m. to the Hawaiian Inn at 2301 S. Atlantic Ave.

City officials said officers found the woman, later identified as Olympia Cerruti, 34, suffering from a traumatic injury and she was in full cardiac arrest. Officials said Cerruti was unable to be revived, and she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

In a 911 call made during the incident, a woman who was staying at the hotel said a man was running down the hall yelling for someone to call police.

Police said Cerruti had recently checked into the hotel.

Investigators are interviewing four witnesses, one of whom knew Cerruti, officials said, but no arrests have been made.

No other details have been released.
