Cocoa police investigate death of woman outside 7-Eleven

Man told 911 his girlfriend wasn't breathing, police say

COCOA, Fla. – Police are investigating the death of a 39-year-old woman Sunday afternoon in Cocoa.

The Cocoa Police Department said dispatchers received a call at 3:30 p.m. from a man who said his girlfriend wasn't breathing. The man reported that he was taking his girlfriend to a hospital when he stopped to call for help.

First responders arrived to a 7-Eleven parking lot at 947 Dixon Blvd. and attempted to revive the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The department said the area around the 7-Eleven was secured as a potential crime scene as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman's death and whether foul play may have been involved.

No other details were immediately released.
