Palm Bay K-9 finds 7 pounds of pot, 2 pounds of meth, MDMA in man's car

PALM BAY, Fla. – A traffic stop by a Palm Bay police officer Monday morning led to the discovery of a large quantity of illegal drugs and two handguns, a Police Department spokesperson said.

Officer Aaron Yuergens said he pulled over Michael Gordon Watson,40, of Palm Bay, around 1 a.m. and discovered he was driving with a suspended license. Officer George Von Edwins' K-9, Delta, alerted the officers to street drugs inside the car. A search revealed two loaded handguns on the front seat, 7 pounds of cannabis, 2.2 pounds of crystal meth, 163 grams of MDMA and more than $11,000 in cash, police said.

Watson is charged with trafficking meth, MDMA, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and felony possession of cannabis.

Watson was booked into the Brevard County Jail and held without bond.
