1 dead, at least five hurt in Orange County crash, officials say

2 victims trapped in vehicles, fire rescue says


ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a fatal crash Sunday morning in Orange County that also left at least five people injured, officials said.

Orange County Fire Rescue officials said the two-vehicle crash took place around 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and Mott Avenue. A witness told Fire Rescue personnel that a truck crossed a median and was T-boned by another vehicle, agency officials said.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and at least five others were injured, officials said. The victims were not immediately identified.

Fire Rescue personnel said two people were trapped inside the vehicles and had to be removed. At least four of the victims were taken to nearby hospitals, with two of them in serious to critical condition, Fire Rescue personnel said.

Fire Rescue crews were still at the scene of the crash as of 11:10 a.m.
