GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gainesville police are looking for the owner of several potted marijuana plots found Thursday morning.

A crew spraying for mosquitoes near 45th Avenue stumbled across the crop about 9 a.m. and called police, who came out to fetch the plants, according to the Gainesville Police Department.

Department spokesman Ben Tobias said the plants will be turned over to the agency's drug unit. In the mean time, they made for a light-hearted tweet asking for the owner to come collect them.

"Claim in person at GPD Headquarters," the tweet stated.
