ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County Public School Chairman Bill Sublette has filed to run for Orange County mayor in the 2018 election.
Sublette officially filed his candidacy Friday and his kickoff event is scheduled for Monday at The Green Bank Building Lobby on Orange Avenue.
During the event, Sublette will discuss his vision for Orange County and outline his campaign platform.
Sublette, an attorney who has also served in the Florida House of Representatives, has been chairman of Orange County Public Schools since 2010.
Sublette joins Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings, Robert Edward Melanson and Rob Panepinto in the race for Orange County mayor. Term limits prevent current Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs from running.
