Truck driver dies after hitting guardrail, tree

Troopers investigating single-vehicle crash

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 30-year-old man died after he lost control of his truck and crashed it into a guardrail, then a tree on State Road 429 Thursday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Samuel Peterson was attempting to exit southbound SR 429 for U.S.-192 around 1:15 p.m. when he lost control for an unknown reason, the report said.

Peterson, of Tavares, crashed his 2013 Ford pickup truck into a guardrail then a tree. Troopers said he died at the scene.

The crash is under investigation.
