ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police released new details Wednesday on a shooting that happened in a downtown parking garage last week, including information on a second victim and a new shooter description.

A man and a woman were shot last Thursday at 2:21 a.m. in the elevator at 55 West Church Street, police said.

The male victim, Christopher Simmons, 27, of Kissimmee was found after bike patrol units watched him drive out of the parking garage and crash an Aston Martin near 76. W. Pine Street. Simmons had a gunshot wound to his upper torso and was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center. He was later released from the hospital.

Police said they found a large bag of cannabis inside the crash car, which was registered to an acquaintance of the victim's.

Police did not initially know about the second shooting victim, Jonna Cary, 21, of Volusia County, who was shot in the jaw. She was treated at a hospital outside the Orlando area, police said.

Both victims have criminal history in the Central Florida area, arrest records show.

After reviewing surveillance video taken in the area of the shooting, police were also able to correct the original shooter description, Orlando police public information Officer Michelle Guido said.

Witnesses told police last week that the shooter was a black male, on Wednesday, Guido said the new corrected description is for a thin white man, about 6 feet tall with dark hair, who was wearing dark clothing at the time of the shooting.

No charges have been filed in this case and the investigation is ongoing.
