Canadian man fined for singing while driving

Police cite man for 'screaming in a public place'

A Canadian man who was caught singing in his car was fined $118 for "screaming in a public place," reports the BBC.

Taoufik Moalla, 38, was singing C+C Music Factory's "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)" when he was pulled over by police. Authorities asked if he had been screaming, and when Moalla explained he was singing the song, police still handed him the ticket.

"I understand if they are doing their job, they are allowed to check if everything's okay, if I kidnapped someone or if there's danger inside, but I would never expect they would give me a ticket for that," Moalla told CTV News.

Montreal police declined to comment on the incident.
