Power-deprived parents celebrate birth of 'baby Duke'

OVIEDO, Fla. – After Hurricane Irma, Tony Galarza and his wife made a plea for power to Duke Energy that went viral

Now, they're celebrating the birth of their new son, Crew Nolan Galarza.

No, the baby's official name is not "Duke," as the sign promised. However, Galarza says he plans to use the energy company's name as a nickname for his newborn son. 

There will be no hard feelings about not holding up their end of the bargain, however. Duke Energy officials said they got a good laugh at the sign in the week following Hurricane Irma, and after restoring the family's power, told them they won't hold him to naming his child after them.

Duke energy officials said they plan to deliver a baby gift to the family as well.
