Man arrested in attack on Air Force veteran in Winter Haven Publix parking lot

Gregory Leonard Krizsan,24, charged with aggravated battery

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Winter Haven police have arrested a man in the attack of a 90-year-old Air Force veteran in a Winter Haven Publix's parking lot Wednesday.

Police said Gregory Leonard Krizsan, 24, was arrested Friday afternoon.

Police said the elderly man was backing out of a parking spot in the Publix parking lot in Winter Haven when he collided with a black, four-door car driven by Krizsan, who heading in the wrong direction.

Minor damage was incurred by both cars. The two men got out of their cars and got into an argument that lasted for about six minutes before Krizsan allegedly struck the other man, police said.

The victim landed face first, hit his head and lost consciousness.

He was taken to Winter Haven Hospital and treated for a severe cut to his head, and scrapes on his hands, face and arms.

Police said the victim is recovering from his non-life-threatening injuries.

Krizsan is charged with aggravated battery on a person over the age of 65.
