DeLAND, Fla. – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a van Saturday evening in DeLand, authorities said.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. just south of the intersection of Woodmont Road and North Woodland Boulevard, DeLand police said.

Officers said the northbound Honda van hit and killed the pedestrian, identified Wednesday as 53-year-old John William Kaiser.
Police said the driver of the van was not injured.
The incident remains under investigation, police said.
