ORLANDO, Fla. – An Uber driver was beaten and carjacked while dropping off two passengers at Windsor Cove Apartments early Saturday morning, according to the Orlando Police Department.

The victim said he picked up two men at the 7-Eleven on Colonial Drive and Westmoreland Drive and drove them to the apartment complex on Mercy Drive.

Dontay Baxter, who was sitting in the passenger seat, started punching the victim in the head while a passenger in the back seat attempted to hold the victim still, the affidavit said.

The man in the backseat got out of the vehicle while Baxter stayed behind, telling the victim, "He is going to get a gun," according to authorities.

Police said that Baxter, 21, pushed the victim out of the vehicle and drove off with the driver still clinging to the door, trying to stop him.

The victim's vehicle was found on Old Winter Garden Road at Mercy Drive, but Baxter refused to pull over, so officers had to use stop sticks to stop him, according to the report.

Baxter was charged with carjacking, aggravated battery and fleeing and eluding.
