Police: Rockledge driver cited after hitting woman on bike, her children

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. – A woman and her two children were injured Friday afternoon after they were hit by a vehicle in Brevard County, Rockledge police said.

The woman was riding a bicycle along South Fiske Boulevard and towing her two young children in a carriage behind her, police said.

Officers said she tried to cross Levitt Parkway just before 4:30 p.m. when a woman failed to stop her vehicle and hit them, causing all three to be ejected.

The woman suffered minor injuries and the children were airlifted to the hospital, police said.

Authorities said the mother had the right-of-way and the woman driving the vehicle was being cited for failure to yield.
