ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An armed robbery ended with a crash in Orange County Friday after deputies say the suspects led them on a chase and crashed into a bystander.
Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies spotted a vehicle at 9:55 a.m. pulling into a Shell gas station that matched the description of a vehicle used in an armed robbery case. Deputies attempted to speak with the driver, who fled northbound on Riverside Drive.
After a short pursuit, the suspects struck an innocent victim's vehicle at Magnolia Homes Road, causing severe damage to the vehicle, deputies said. The suspects crashed into a pile of rocks and a tree.
A woman ran from the suspect's vehicle and was caught by deputies. The male suspect was stuck inside the vehicle because of the accident.
Deputies discovered two weapons inside the car. Charges are pending against the man and woman.
Orange County Sheriff's Office public information officer Ingrid Tejada-Monforte said the pair are suspected to be involved in a Thursday armed robbery on Biltmore Road.
