HOLLY HILL, Fla. – A 32-year-old woman was shot Friday morning during a drug deal, police said.

The shooting was reported at 9:08 a.m. in the 300 block of Elsie Avenue.

Holly Hill police said the woman called authorities, telling them she had been shot during a failed drug transaction. She said she ran into her house after she was wounded and the suspected shooter fled in a white or silver vehicle, according to police.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.

"I'm actually surprised because this is normally a quiet house," said Regina Millen, who lives nearby. "You'll see kids running around. I would never think of anything like that to happen."

The shooter was described as a black man, about 18-20 years old, with a short-cropped Mohawk and a light mustache.

No other details have been released.
