OCALA, Fla. – Marion County Animal Services is putting over 50 poodles up for adoption after they were seized from a home in a cruelty case.
Fifty-six poodles were found in an Ocala home living in one room in what officials with the animal shelter called "horrible condition." The court awarded Marion County Animal Services legal custody over all but one of the dogs, which the judge allowed the woman to keep.

For the past month, employees at the animal shelter have been conditioning, grooming and tending to the poodles' medical needs. They have also been spayed and neutered.

Now, Marion County Animal Services says they're finally ready to place the poodles up for adoption.
The poodles range in age, and employees are warning potential adopters that the dogs are not housebroken. They suggest adopters research tips on training a dog before they adopt, and have patience, as it could take weeks or months to train the animals.
Marion County Animal Services will open up adoption on Nov.29. The poodles will be adopted out on a first come, first served basis. The shelter will be open from 10 a.m. to 5p.m. on adoption days. Dogs will not be placed on hold for anyone.
