State gets more time to review new evidence in body dumping case
Ramsys Cruz Abreu charged with manslaughter in teen's death
ORLANDO, Fla. – Prosecutors in the case involving a man charged in the death of a 15-year-old girl whose body was dumped along an Orange County road have been given more time to prepare.
Ramsys Cruz Abreu is charged with manslaughter after prosecutors say he tried to cover up Melanie Medina's death in April. Investigators say another teen girl accidentally shot Medina inside a car.
A judge on Wednesday approved the state's motion to delay the case. State attorneys said they needed more time to examine new cellphone evidence that could help the defense's case.
