ORLANDO, Fla. – The barriers are up, the parking signs in place, and there's already several RVs set up and ready to tailgate ahead of Friday's clash between the Knights and the Bulls.
"Both teams are so good," said Jim Hodapp, who parked his RV in a parking lot Thursday. "It's going to be a great game. There's been some big games, but this is the one."
Thousands are expected to pack UCF's campus for the football game, the first sellout in quite some time. And while all eyes will be on the field, expect to see plenty of security keeping an eye on what's happening off the field before and after the game.
UCF's police chief has publicly stated that with what's going on all over the world and here in the United States, security will be tight as crews were already out and about getting ready Thursday.
UCF police told News 6 around 200 officers will be inside and outside the stadium, including some officers from USF.
On top of that, there will be security measures fans won't be able to see. That's why police are asking fans to get to Spectrum Stadium early.
"They advised all of us to get there early," said freshman Nicholas Ambrosino. "I heard get there two hours early, I'm going to be there at the gates at 1:30 when they open so I can get a seat. I'm real excited. I heard it's going to be crazy."
The winner of this game clinches a spot in the conference championship. If UCF wins, that would mean the conference championship would take place at Spectrum Stadium.
