Police gained a description of Braun's vehicle and located it within minutes traveling east on Cheney Highway, officers said. Police spokeswoman Amy Matthews said Braun stopped for the officers, who took him into custody without incident, Florida Today reported.

The woman was injured and was being treated at a hospital, Matthews said.

Titusville police said Braun was charged with aggravated battery against a person 65 years old or older, robbery by sudden snatching, violation of felony probation, destruction of evidence, petty theft, and driving while license suspended without knowledge.

Braun was being held at the Brevard County Detention Center without bail. He had been on probation for convictions in April for burglary, grand theft and leaving the scene of a crash without serious bodily injury.
