Man shoots, kills dog during attack, Orlando police say

Police: Owner of attacking dog cited

ORLANDO, Fla. – A dog was shot and killed Sunday morning after attacking another dog being walked by its owner, the Orlando Police Department said.

The shooting took place outside a home in the 3300 block of Waller Place at 10:05 a.m., when the attacking dog, which was unleashed, came after the man's dog, police said.

Officers said that's when the man pulled out his gun and fatally shot the attacking dog.

It is unknown whether the dog that was attacked was injured.

Police said no one is facing criminal charges, but the owner of the attacking dog was given a citation.
