LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A 63-year-old Eustis man was killed as he pushed a shopping cart in the eastbound lanes of State Road 44 on Wednesday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The victim’s name has not been released.

He was hit by a 2016 Mazda driven by a 28-year-old Eustis man, who didn’t suffer any injuries in the crash, said Sgt. Kim Montes, of the FHP.
The car was heading east on SR 44 near Cattail Drive when the front-right side of the vehicle struck the man.
The crash remains under investigation.
