Man facing attempted murder charge after throwing explosive at another man, officials say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A man is facing numerous charges, including attempted murder, after throwing an explosive device at another man on Oct. 23, officials said.

Officials said John Michael Citron Jr. confronted the victim, Ian Jarrett, lit the fuse of the device and threw it at him. Citron then told Jarrett that when he got home he would find another device in his apartment, officials said.

The explosive device landed in wet grass and the fuse went out before it could explode, according to authorities.

Officers said Citron admitted to making the device with incendiary material from fireworks and lighting the fuse with the intent to scare Jarrett.

Citron is facing charges of attempted first-degree murder with a destructive device, possession or discharging a destructive device, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, attempted aggravated battery and threatening to throw, project, place or discharge a destructive device.
