TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Willie Taggart has been named head coach of Florida State University football.
Taggart comes to Tallahassee after one year as head coach at the University of Oregon. He finished the season with a 7-5 record.

Before Oregon, Taggart coached at the University of South Florida. Taggart was able to change the University of South Florida team from 2-10 to 10-2 in just two years.
Taggart, a native of Bradenton, Florida, will be the Seminole's first full-time African-American head coach.
