Woman sought in fatal Sanford shooting

Johnterriel Carey ID'd by police as person of interest

SANFORD, Fla. – Sanford police are searching for a woman in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred the night before Thanksgiving at an apartment complex.

Antoine Haggins, 29, was shot and killed Nov. 22 at the Overlook at Monroe Apartments, police said.

Investigators said two men approached Haggins, who was in a vehicle in the parking lot of the complex, and shot him. Haggins was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

According to police, Johnterriel Carey, 22, has been identified as a person of interest in the case. Police said she's wanted on a charge of tampering with evidence, but no other details were provided.
