SANFORD, Fla. – A woman who was wanted in connection with a fatal Sanford shooting last month has been arrested after turning herself in on Wednesday, according to the Sanford Police Department.

Johnterriel Carey was recently named a person of interest in the shooting death of 29-year-old Antoine Haggins at the Overlook at Monroe Apartments on Nov. 22.

Police say Carey asked him to meet her before the crime and was in the vehicle when he was shot. Carey is accused of failing to provide investigators the cellphone used the night of the murder and additional information that could help police find suspects in the case.

Two men are believed to have fled after the shooting, but they have not been identified, according to a news release.

Carey is charged with tampering with evidence.
