Man found dead behind Orlando nightclub, deputies say

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man was found dead behind a building Saturday morning in Orlando, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies responded after receiving a report of shots fired at Flash Dancers nightclub at 2201 S. Orange Blossom Trail around 5:30 a.m., officials said.

When authorities arrived, they found the body of a man believed to be in his 30s behind the building, deputies said.

The victim, identified as 34-year-old Javier Medina, had suffered trauma to his body, authorities said.

Deputies said the suspect, whose name has not been released, was detained following the incident.

On Friday, deputies said they arrested Travis Avera, 31, on charges of tampering with evidence and obstructing an investigation. He was taken into custody from his home.

Authorities said the investigation into the man's death is ongoing.
