Pedestrian struck, critically injured in Daytona Beach hit-and-run

Authorities searching for red passenger car with right, front-end damage

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Authorities are searching for the driver of a vehicle who they say struck a pedestrian in Daytona Beach and drove off.

The crash was reported around 7:35 p.m. Monday on Derbyshire Road at 10th Street.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the right side of the vehicle struck the victim, who was only identified as a male, before leaving the scene. The victim suffered critical injuries in the crash, the FHP said.

Troopers said they are searching for a red passenger vehicle with right, front-end damage and a passenger-side mirror missing.
