APOPKA, Fla. – A person was arrested after barricading himself in an Orange County hotel Wednesday afternoon, according to the Apopka Police Department.
Police said the incident began around 8 a.m. at Regency Inn & Suites when an officer conducting patrol at the hotel was approached by a man who said Raul Rivas brandished a gun.
Officers attempted to speak with Rivas, who was staying in room 207, but he refused to exit the room, instead he moved furniture by the door to barricade himself, an arrest report said.
Police said Rivas eventually surrendered after the SWAT team responded. He was naked when he was taken into custody, according to the report.
