Woman carjacked while dropping off clothes at Orange County laundromat

Thief struck woman several times in face, deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies are searching for a man who stole a woman's 2015 silver Toyota RAV 4 Wednesday in her Pine Hills mobile home community while she was dropping off clothes at her neighborhood laundromat.

Deputies said she left her car running while she loaded her laundry. When she opened the car door, a black man in his 20s pulled her away from her car, struck her several times in the face and left the area in the vehicle, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

The car was later located unoccupied, officials said.

The victim, 39-year-old Victorie Michelle, told News 6 she's recovering after the man punched her in the forehead.

"I go outside and the guy came in, pushed me and took my car," Michelle said.

The victim told deputies once she left the laundromat, the man followed her then punched her in the face. She said he then ran to her car, got inside and drove off.

"He pushed my wife, my wife tried to get the cart," said the victim's husband, Limage Michael.

The carjacker also got away with the victim's cellphone, $200 cash and lots of clothing she had in her car.

The victim told News 6 she's in a lot of pain.

News 6 crews saw cameras inside this laundromat that may help deputies track down the man responsible -- all as property owners say they’re working to add more security in the area.

The victim identified the carjacker as a man with a dark complexion, in his 20s, tall, having a medium build, with no facial hair.

Anyone with information about the man's identity is urged to call the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
