Not cool on school property-- doing doughnuts on elementary school lawn

Pinewood Elementary School officials asking for help ID'ing driver

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – School officials in Mims are asking the public to help identify the driver caught on surveillance video doing doughnuts on elementary school’s front lawn on Tuesday.

A dark-colored car pulled into Pinewood Elementary School property on Tuesday at 8:23 p.m. and proceeded to tear up the grass by driving in circles, according to the school’s official Facebook page.

Parent Stacey Demoss said she thought the news was sad but not surprising.

"I thought it was pretty bad that people just go out and destroy property," Demoss said.

The school released photos and video of the vehicle in hopes that someone from the community would recognize the car or know its owner.

As a parent in a small town where everyone knows everyone, Demoss said she is confident someone will recognize the car.

"Hopefully, they'll catch them and maybe they can prosecute them or do something to them," Demoss said.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

The school said it has received leads on who is behind the vandalism.

There's no word on when the lawn will be fixed.

Demoss' daughter, a sixth-grade student, wants the person responsible to do the right thing and come forward.

"Whoever did that should come up and admit that was them and they shouldn't do it anymore," Makayla Demoss said.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call Pinewood Elementary School or the Sheriff's Office.

Do you recognize this car?
